Heat is the number one killer of automatic transmissions. Click on the chart to the left and see how damaging heat can be to your transmission. It's simple, the hotter your transmission fluid gets, the more damage is caused to your transmission. When you add an extra load, such as a car or truck loaded down for vacation or towing a trailer, the temperature gauge steadily climbs and the damage begins.

You can't stop damage that's already been done, but you sure can cool your system with the addition of a cooling fan, trans-coolers and TCI®'s Max Shift™ RTF transmission fluid.

TCI® Electric Reversible Fan Kit

All our electric fan kits offer several features that make these the right choice. Our fans either push air or pull air by simply reversing the blades. The fans are constructed out of light weight Nylon® 6/6 high temperature plastic with a low profile design. Where room is a premium, our 10" and 12" units are both under 3" at the thickest part. Each fan comes complete with all necessary hardware and our quick mount connector kit.

Thermostatic Control Switch for Electric Fans
We offer two models for you to choose from. The adjustable control switch can be set by the user to activate from 140° to 200° F. This switch can also be wired to automatically operate the fan whenever the air conditioning system turns on. Comes with installation hardware and instructions. Our preset control switch will activate the fan at 185° F and turn it off when the temperature drops below 170° F. An excellent choice for racing applications.

Performance Transmission Coolers

Our high tech racing coolers are designed specifically for racing. Because our tube and fin design is superior, you can expect our coolers to meet your needs. Constructed entirely from aluminum these coolers are powder coated black for an aggressive race look and have #6 AN fittings for connection to either steel braided or high pressure lines. These coolers are pressure checked to 300 psi.

Your car and your safety are too important to trust to hose clamps when a typical performance automatic transmission cooling system operates at over 100 psi.TCI® performance transmission coolers are also a great choice for street and towing applications. For the ultimate heat control, a 827000 10" fan can be mounted directly to a 823800 cooler. All performance coolers include a 821500 quick mount kit.

Tech Tip: Shown here are three suggested locations for the cooler in relation to the air conditioning condenser, radiator and fan. For alternate mounting, select a location where the cooler will receive maximum possible cold air flow from vehicle motion or fan. Position #1: 100% efficient Position #2: 75% efficient Position #3: 60% efficient As you can see from our chart, the location chosen for mounting plays a very important role in efficiency. Cool air flow through the cooler is the manner in which a cooler dissipates heat. The cooler will protect the fluid from overheating, but it cannot correct a faulty transmission. The mechanical condition of your transmission should be checked if troubles are suspected.

Transmission Temperature Gauge

Knowing the condition of your vehicle’s high performance automatic transmission is important in helping ensure that it delivers the highest performance – both short and long term. There is no better indicator of transmission status than the temperature of the fluid, which ensures consistent race car performance and daily street driver component durability.

The TCI® Transmission Temperature Gauges are complete gauge-to-sender kits that allow you to safely and effectively monitor the temperature of the transmission fluid. The TCI® Transmission Temperature Gauges feature either silver or black faces and have light covers in both red and green to give you the option of clear, red or green backlighting. The black or silver-dialed gauges are each available in either 2 5/8-inch or 2 1/16-inch size diameter to fit in or under nearly any dashboard application. Best of all, these kits feature easy-to-install sensor adapters and work with either aluminum or steel transmission pans.

Heavy-Duty Engine Oil Cooler Kit

Perfect for tow trucks, motor homes and other vehicles used in heavy load applications. The engine oil cooler kit provides a continuous cooling of engine oil while engine is running. The best way to insure proper engine oil cooling under heavier than normal driving conditions. Insures a drop of 20° to 30° F in engine oil operating temperatures.
